This morning was the beginning of another hot miserable day. Bloodhound Diary Day 11 – This morning was the beginning of another hot miserable day. The temperature has broke 100 again so outside time will be limited. Still hoping to have a word with the sheep if I get the opportunity.

The last couple of mornings daddy has been adding several heaping tablespoons of Pedigree canned dog food to my dry Purina Puppy Chow. He has been blending it well and giving it to me for breakfast. All I can say is YUM!

I don’t know what magical things they put in that canned food, but the smell of it drives me wild. And the taste . . . MMMmmmMMMmmmmm It is almost yummier than pizza crust. Almost ; )

No really, I promise not to do it again.

I think I have some Great White Shark DNA in me. Ok, I don’t really think that. It is something daddy has been telling me (I learned all about sharks watching shark week on Discovery with daddy). For some reason I have had this growing urge to taste EVERYTHING. Same as the shark does. Like when they bite something to see if it taste good. If it does then they eat it. If it doesn’t then they just spit it out.

Well, I am not doing the chewy spitting thing. I am only guilty of the chewing tasting thing. I just can’t help myself. This whole tasting chewing thing started a couple days ago. Daddy has been pretty good about it so far, but today he sat me down for a ‘big dog’ talking to.

I know, I am bad. I can't help myself. While he was talking he was pointing at things and pointing back at me. He would point at something and say NO! Bad! Then he would show me a chewy toy and tell me to chew on it if I wanted to chew something.

Welcome to another beautiful day. Bloodhound Diary Day 10 – Hello everybody. Welcome to another beautiful day. Daddy says it might break 100 degrees today. Ugh. Looks like we will have playtime inside, and if I am lucky me and daddy will watch another movie together. I am learning a lot about the human world by watching movies.

Potty time has come and gone and breakfast has already been eaten. I was hoping for some more eggs, but daddy said something must be wrong with the chickens. When he went to meet the chicken to get more eggs he was stopped at a big gate, which he said was guarded by a dragon named ‘Maynard’.

The dragon absolutely refused to let daddy in.

So no eggs for us. Stupid dragon. I think its time to find out exactly whats going on. Daddy could not get any more information from the dragon. He just stood there giving dad the ‘evil eye’. At least that’s what daddy says he gave him. I am not sure what an evil eye is, but it doesn’t sound like something very nice. I wonder where daddy put the eye, I would like to take a look at it.

Daddy said he will be busy working around the house for the next few days, so he won’t have much time to look into the egg problem. I think I will try to learn what I can about the egg problem. Life without ever having eggs for breakfast again would make it hardly worth getting out of bed. I can still smell them. Mmmmmm eggs.

I am not sure where this dragon named Maynard lives. I will have to ask around some on my potty trips outside. Surely if there is a dragon living anywhere nearby someone has to have heard about it or even seen where he was. Daddy said something about a big gate. I think it would be hard to keep something like that secret.

I just know there must evil cats controlling all the eggs.

Something is following me. Bloodhound Diary Day 9 – Today started out the same as most, until we went outside. The sun had just woken up and it was already hot and sticky. Daddy said the humidity must me 90% because the air was heavy.

Humidity (ha-ha I know what that is) must have been because after only a few minutes daddy was covered with sweat. I don’t think we will be going very far for a walk today. If we even go.

After breakfast we played some and then daddy put on a movie (I love movie time). The one we watched was called Underworld : Rise of the Lycans. It was really scary but I couldn’t look away.

All the dog monsters were so strong. I cheered and cheered them. Maybe I will grow that strong some day.

Something is following me.

After the movie was over it was potty time. Daddy locked the door, which meant we would be going for a walk after all. Hurray! I always like walking best when the sun wakes up and when the sun goes to sleep.

I ran outside and across the porch and nearly fell when I reached the stairs. I almost forgot that I can’t go down them by myself yet. It’s just too hard. My daddy said ‘hold on boy and I will get you’ as he reached down and scooped me up. After putting me down on the grass he started laughing at me. It wasn’t a small laugh, it was a big one which made me feel dumb.

Ok, he was right. But I still felt dumb ; / Daddy said ‘you know, the only reason you can’t go down stairs yet is because when you put your head down, all the skin slides down your neck and shuts your eyes. You will just have to get a bit bigger boy’.

Ok, he was right. But I still felt dumb ; /

We sniffed our way down the road past the house next door, past all the sheep (they were all sleeping in the shade), then on down past the bend in the road to the hayfield. It was a good walk so far. We started getting some hot but not bad yet, as most of this was still shaded by trees.

Then we came out into the sun. It got so hot so fast that I thought we would burst in flames (I saw that in a movie). That’s when I saw it . . .
