Bloodhound Diary Day 17 – Today was beautiful and sunny, but not too hot. We spent the day out in the yard taking advantage of the mild weather.
Daddy spent some time with the girls, Angel and Jasmine while I spent some energy running from my shadow. Stupid shadow.
Mommy and daddy said that when I grow up that Angel and Jasmine can be my girlfriends. I have never had a girlfriend before. I hope they like me. Of course, I still have lots and lots of growing left to do.
They are both so much bigger than me. If they fell on me they would squish me flat. If I got lost in a wrinkle, it may take me days to find my way back out. That’s how big they are.
Let me show you the girls.
This is Angel. Ain’t she pretty?
Ok, I know she looks a little insane (maybe a lot insane?), but my daddy assures me that when she takes her pills she stops hearing voices and is just as sane as you and me . . . almost.
Angel and Jasmine love to run and play. Their favorite game is keep-away. Daddy throws them a toy and they chase each other around and around the whole yard, each capturing it from the other. This can go on and on all day between the two of them.
They are so much fun to watch.
Angel chases Jasmine and Jasmine chases Angel over and over. They will do the same thing if you give them a treat. If you give each of them one, one will always drop theirs and try to get the treat from the other. They won’t eat it right away. That would end the game too soon. They prefer to chase each other. Funny girls.
This is Angel when she is not hearing voices in her head.
Daddy said on her last visit to the Veterinarian Angel was nearly 100 pounds, and she still has a few more months of growing to do.
I think she is the most beautiful doggy woman I have ever seen. A big hunk-o-droopy love.
When I am outside running around I feel so stupid when Angel is watching and I trip on my ears.
Some things you can just never take back.
I hope that by the time I am grown, she will have forgotten the times when I looked stupid.
Till then I will be more careful when I run, at least when Angel is watching ; )
This is Jasmine the beautiful.

Bloodhound Diary Day 16 – Today was a lazy day for me. Daddy said since we worked real hard over the last couple weeks, we could have a day to relax. This was ok with me cause I was a bit tired today.
We spent a while out in the yard after breakfast. I sniffed around some, chasing these big flying things. They were too fast for me, I never did manage to catch one. Daddy said they were butterflies.
Interesting. That explains why they were all yellow.
I didn’t know butter could fly.
You would think that the hot sun would make them fly slower, cause of the melting. More interesting. I just had to catch one and taste it! MMmmmmmm butter. Sadly, I never did. The melting didn’t seem to slow them down at all. Stupid butterflies.
When I was done chasing the butterflies we went back inside. Mommy was busy sewing her flat baby blanket (for the flat baby?). Daddy and I settled down for a while and watched a scary movie. It was called Cloverfield. I don’t know why they called it Cloverfield, I didn’t see even one clover in the whole movie. Maybe the giant-scary-bad-alien-thing ate them all.
Maybe that is why the big monster was mad. There were no more clovers to eat. I bet the city people feed it next time. Will someone please tell the city people to feed the monster so next time he won’t get so mad?
After the movie finished, my daddy let me play while he did a few things around the house. I pretended I was a giant alien monster like from the movie. I chased my toys while they tried to escape from me. They never had a chance. I stomped and chewed, chasing them from room to room. I made a good alien monster . . . Raaaaaawwwwrrrr!
Please, don’t make me go down there!

Bloodhound Diary Day 15 – Today it only rained part of the day so we got to spend time outside. We didn’t stay long because the heat was returning. The heat would be fine if not for the fact that the humidity felt like it was 99%.
Ugh! Stupid humidity. It felt like we were walking through a hot bowl of soup (that’s what daddy said).
Thinking of the soup made me hungry. After we go inside I will see if daddy will make us some. Soup that is. The other day he shared something he called ‘cream of chicken’ soup with me. Oh it was nummy. I didn’t know chickens made soup.
The rest of the day I watched mommy and daddy working around the house. Daddy was doing this and that and mommy was making a baby quilt she said was for a friend at work. It was pretty, but it didn’t really look like a baby. It was flat and babies are kinda round. I won’t tell mommy that though.
While they are busy I will finish telling you what I learned during my first 2 weeks.
Conclusion of a 2 week puppy review – Part 2 of 2
In part 1 we reviewed everything I learned during my first 7 days. This part (part 2) will be a review of the important things I have learned during the last 7 days (day 8 – 14). I hope that other puppies out there will find these lessons helpful and will share what they have learned with their mommy and daddy.
On Day 8 : I learned how good some supplements to my diet can be.
I learned what eggs were and that eggs were a yummy thing to eat for breakfast. Daddy had scrambled them (he put them in a bowl and beat them till they stopped moving), let them cool some and gave them to me. They were sooo good. Daddy said they tasted good plus they were really good for me. High in something called protein. I think they are high in yum!
Daddy says : Eggs, when given in moderation are very good for your dog. They are a natural food high in protein, low in fat and calories. They contain necessary minerals and are easy to digest. Eggs make a good supplement to the normal diet of your dog. It is even ok to give a slice or two (depending on the size of the dog) of whole grain bread (toasted) with your dogs eggs.

On Day 9 : I learned that not everything is what it seems to be.
Ok, I am only a puppy so you really can’t fault me for being a little confused when I discover something new. I scared myself. There, I said it. I feel silly about the whole ’something is following me’ thing. It was all in my imagination . . . or was it?
